The tittle "turn up the stereo type" is a sarcastic outburst at the fact that we live in a so called cultural society but the reality of it being that this same society holds typecast views towards anything out of the norm in their own sense. from a priest staring wrongly at the guy with long hair in a church sermon, to people in the bus staring wrongly at some one with tattoos, to more extreme typecast views such as Tamil people looked at by others as if their all terrorist. this song out of my own feeling living in a typecast society and also my views on what I see happening around me related to that topic. The lyrics make up sentences found to be metaphors so I advise the listener to take the topic into their mind and interpret the metaphors in away that relates to their own life and surroundings.
The song also progresses to another aspect which is typecasting brings out anger and hatred within people as well. for people to understand each other first they got to put aside their physical deference and learn to accept someone for who they really are. I have asked my parents and relatives that question, I have asked authority such as policemen that question, I have even pushed my pride hard enough to ask corporate giants and even public defenders that question..what I have to say to you is..ask your self that question the next time you look at a random person and stereotype him/her
